TD Bank and TD Centre Partner on Green Initiative
How a community utilizes space and innovatively applies the principles of sustainability speaks volumes about how it values people and sees the future. At Toronto-Dominion Centre, we’ve developed somewhat of a reputation for always going beyond the expected. Whether it’s our complex-wide commitment to LEED certification, our attachment to open green spaces or our target of zero waste, we’ve always looked around corners for new innovative ways to enrich the greater community.
Now we’re looking on rooftops for inspiration.
The Living Roof is a collaborative project between the TD Bank Group and the TD Centre, and is a bold expression of working together for environmental stewardship .
The Living Roof is being developed atop one of Toronto’s most identifiable buildings – the roof of the TD Bank Pavilion. The Living Roof is much more than an environmental statement. It’s a living and active contributor to a healthier community. The Living Roof will cover most of the 22,000 sq. ft. roof and will be made up of Creek Sedge Grass. Construction will begin in September and planting will commence in the Spring of 2012.
