Trained and Ready
The health and well being of Toronto-Dominion Centre tenants and visitors is the primary focus of our highly trained, 24/7 Emergency Response Team (ERT). As the first complex in Canada to equip its responders with portable defibrillators, ERT personnel are able to provide emergency aid in life threatening situations prior to the arrival of 911 EMS personnel. ERT team members are also trained to provide First Aid and CPR when needed.
Background: The Toronto-Dominion Centre's ERT team was created in 1995. The team consists of trained professionals in all areas of emergency response, over and above the Centre's 24 hour security team.
Training: All ERT members are certified instructors in First Aid, CPR, AED, WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) and Fire Warden training.
All tenants are welcome to arrange individual or group training through our ERT Team. Training for a minimum of five participants, for Standard and Emergency First Aid/CPR, ranges from $55.00/person to $115.00/2 day.
WHMIS training is also available and is provided by the ERT at a cost of $40.00/person (four hours) with a minimum of 10 participants. Costs include training materials and certificates.

In the event of a medical emergency follow these three steps:
-
Immediately notify EMS at 911, then contact Building Security at 416-366-7823.
-
If Building Security has been contacted first, follow up immediately with a call to 911.
-
To prevent further injury, try not to move the injured person.
All front line TDC security personnel are trained in First Aid/CPR/AED providers.
